Need a real pro here. I know thechances are very small but could I be pregnant?
I am on the mirena and have been for a year and a half and havent ever had these side effects. Last time i had sex was 4 months ago, i didnt have a period for over 2 months after, and now have been on the longest and most unpredictable period in my life. I have had 2 negative prego tests but 2 docs have mentioned possibly getting an ultra sound just in case. Now im antsy! My body has just been not normally these past few months including random tummy aches and constantly craving food. I went on an extreme diet and exersice program for about a month and gained weight. I know the chances are slim, also cause i drink heavily 2 or 3 times a months. Maybe theres a dead fetus that is still flushing? What do you all think? People that know what theyre talking about please!
I was on the mirena for about 2 years, as well. Around that 1 1/2 year mark my body started acting completely out of wack, just like yours is. I had every pregnancy symptom in the book. I was gaining weight rapidly (also despite diet and exercise). My breasts were swollen and hurt like hell. I felt like I was either pregnant or going crazy. After about 6 months of that I finally got the Mirena removed and my body (after a couple of months) went back to normal…. at least until I got pregnant 5 months later (but that’s a different story).
I really think you are experiencing the same thing that I was. I don’t know for sure what caused it, but my guess is a build up of the slow release hormones that the mirena releases.
If you had miscarried and the baby was still in there trying to “flush out” as you said, a pregnancy test should still come back positive. It takes a few months for the Hcg to levels to return to 0.
