What can I take that will give me same pain relief as Lyrica without the weight gain ?

I like that Lyrica makes it possible for me to be in less discomfort and walk further when I go to Walmart- BUT I hate the side effects- This pill is making me Fat and Stupid!!!!
Does anyone have something I can ask the doctor about at my next visit?

Try Opioids like Oxycontin(12hr relief), or Oxycodone(break through pain relief) I have been on them for 5 years for RA. Some doctors feel they are addictive, but for chronic pain sufferers there is no effects on the liver or any other organs when using opioids. They can not say this about the other chemical mixed pain killers. To me the opioids are some of the safest pain managements around.
